Well.. We started doing the paperwork and it turns out that 0.9% Financing for 2008 RL's has expired on Dec 10th 2008. The lowest I'm able to find is 6% Interest (Thru Dealer or Acura both). Since we were in so deep into negotiations and excitement, The Dealership has offered me $500 over invoice for 2009 RL w/ Tech. (yes, RL, not TL). Dilemma: 1. Should I go with the ... Read More...

Hi, I went to a dealer in Macon GA yesterday and was quoted $42K+ to buy a 2008 RL Tech Package with 6K miles on it. It was an owner demonstrator and their argument for what I thought was a high price was that the car had never been titled, so it was a "new" car. The looks are debatable. The front and rear views don't seem to gel. (Need to see it in person to finally decide) But the car is slow! Handling is important but acceleration is just as important. It's competing with Infiniti M35/45, Lexus LS, BMW 7 series, Audi A8, MB S series- all of which are in the 0-60 mph in ~6 second range or faster. The RL's AWD is welcome but now ... Read More...

Your question is a straw man; they are different cars. Each has its own circle of people to whom it may appeal, and while the circles may overlap somewhat, they are not the same. I've sat in both 2009's and the RL definitely has more polish and elegance than the TL, while the TL has a more sporty, edgier interior that--in its own right-is very well done. Different cars. ... Although I personally don't care for the 2009 RL, others appear to be in love with this car as it is selling very well at my 2 area Acura dealers.
